Lens modules are still optional and everything that was explained for RAW files is still valid.Today, DxO is releasing a second generation of the DxO software, DxO PureRAW 2. In the case of a JPEG file, support for the camera becomes optional (DxO PhotoLab can open JPEG files from any camera), but having it enables automatic noise reduction. New lens modules do not require an update of the application (again, as long as the camera is supported), but DxO PhotoLab will prompt you to download the right module the first time you open an image taken with this lens. And all manual tools (for lens correction and other adjustments) are available of course. However, some automated corrections based on camera calibration or image analysis (such as Smart Lighting or Noise reduction) will be applied anyway. But in this case, automatic lens correction (distortion, vignetting, chromatic aberration, lens softness) won’t be available. DxO PhotoLab will work with RAW files taken with an unsupported lens (as long it supports the camera). These updates are free if you already own a license for the newest version of DxO PhotoLab. We only add support for new cameras in the newest version of DxO PhotoLab. Support for new cameras is added through updates/upgrades of the application. The version numbers in this list indicate when support for that camera was introduced: any subsequent versions will of course also be compatible, unless otherwise stated. To view our supported cameras & lenses page directly from this article, please click on this link. DxO PhotoLab will refuse to work with RAW files from unsupported cameras. This information applies to version(s): All versions
